A few weeks back, I came upon an estate sale and was able to browse through the most amazing collection of vintage music sheet music and books. Using some of these items, I created Vintage Music Styles.
This is a set of 8 Vintage Music Styles, created from sheets of music over 100 years old. Seven of the styles are created with transparency, so only the musical scores and print will be visible on whatever element or text you apply the style to. One style contains an ivory background and creates a beautiful solid musical effect on elements and/or text.
Tips for use: (1) Using a texture brush, stamp on a blank layer. Next apply a musical style to your stamp to create a beautiful shabby look. (See preview for example). (2) Type letters or words (anything will do) and apply a style to it. Using this technique, by varying your fonts and the letters you use, you will get a variety of looks. I love this because the vast, varied results you get will make it seem like you have a whole musical score in your styles panel! (3) Use over a mask, which can serve as a background for a cluster. (4) Integrate into your paper design. These are just a few ideas!
