It’s Monday so I’m back on the blog hoping to inspire you with one of Snickerdoodle Designs’ collections. When Karen asked me if I’d like to choose a collection to feature, I didn’t need to look for long before I settled on Farm Fresh Collection. Even though it’s an older collection, it’s a classic and appeals to me on many levels. I hope you will agree after viewing the layouts I’ve chosen. Here’s a snippet of the description Karen wrote which I think gives a perfect explanation of the varying ways you can use this collection: “Whether you are a farmer working the land, a student going to school, or a family out for a day of fun, capture your experience and tell your story using Farm Fresh.” Once you see the price, I know you will want to add it to your stash.
In honor of this blog post, Karen has set this collection to the very special price of just $5. This 73% reduction is effective only until August 21st, so make sure to grab it before then. You will find this special pricing at SnickerdoodleDesigns only.
The photo in On the Farm by Norma is so cute. I love the way she hung it from the hook and placed the rooster so he is peering down at it. The sun flare draws the eye to the photo and the large cluster spilling down the side is beautifully shadowed. I like the way she added the newsprint atop the paper with the hand-drawn cow, creating a rustic look. The title font works perfectly with her theme.
The framing on The Pumpkin Farm by rosemarythyme is very creative. I like the way she combined the frame, stitches, brushes and scribbles to outline her photo. She blended a few of the kit papers for a unique background. I like the simple cluster she placed beside the photo which balances the vertically oriented title.
I always enjoy reading Kabra’s stories about growing up on a farm and story she writes in Farm Life is beautifully told. The kit paper she chose for the background is just right, expertly framing her story. The photo she chose is ideal for her theme and the large cluster she created balances the journaling perfectly. The little bit of folded lace is a lovely added touch.
The photo in My Nana by pixelpalette is a treasure. She used a template by Heartstrings Scrap Art and the design works so well here, with the smaller framed photo atop the large blend. I really like the way the wood papers blend with the daisy paper so just a hint of the flowers peeks through. The greenery really pops and using white for the title and journaling is the perfect choice. The sprinkles, grasses and bow-tied heart add a delicate touch to the layout.
I love the layout design in Farm Fresh by 6grand. Placing the framed photos in the corners with the large blend center stage results in a beautiful page. She also used a template by Heartstrings Scrap Art. I like the way the chicken wire from the kit blends seamlessly with the papers and photo. Splitting the journaling into two parts is very effective in drawing the eye down and across the page.
Not only is this collection available at a very special price, but Karen has also provided a matching freebie for you. Just click the image to download the lovely cluster frame.
I hope you have enjoyed revisiting this collection as much as I have. Thanks for reading my post and have a great week!
