Hello and happy Monday. I’m excited to report that Snickerdoodle Designs’ sale continues through the end of today. Most likely you are a bit fatigued with all the activities during the weekend that just ended, so it’s time to relax and be inspired. I’m here to show you a few of my favorite Snickerdoodle collections and a couple of inspirational layouts using each of them.
I love the large photo in Happy Girls are the Prettiest by JennyG. The corner cluster perfectly balances the photo which is placed at the opposite edge of the page. Tucking the banner, torn paper, frame strip and lace behind the photo adds dimension. I like the way she added a bit of text and paint. The small strip of yellow paper emphasizes the split- page design. I like the way she used part of the word art and added the scribble on top.
The masked photo in Picture Perfect by franlk is lovely. I like the way she encircled it with the brushwork. Adding color to some of the brushes and leaving other areas black and white adds drama to the page. The artist used Blendables and Stratified Color Styles available in Snickerdoodles’ Personal Shop and her SugarHillco Shop. Adding the shadowed cluster of flowers, greenery and ribbons atop the brushwork completes the framing and finishes off the layout just right.
I really like the combination of a single large photo with smaller framed photos added on top as in Nature Hike by Rochelle86. She also used a template by Heartstrings Scrap Art. Although the focus is on the gorgeous large photo, the smaller shots capture some of the details of the hike. The clusters and paper flags draw the eye vertically down the layout. I like the way she tucked in the journal card and kept her journaling long and thin adding to the vertical flow of the page.
Fern by Kythe is so pretty in its simplicity. I like the way she used the journal element as a backdrop for her photo. The crumpled brown paper adds texture and the spray of yellow flowers adds a spot of color. The small, ribbon-tied tag serves as the title and journaling for this stunning page.
The photo treatment used by Norma in her layout, Metamorphosis, is amazing. I like the way the photo merges seamlessly with one of the blended papers found in the kit. Leaving some of the elements flat while shadowing others, lends an artsy look to the page in keeping with the photo treatment. I like the way she placed the word art from the kit in an open spot in the layout.
Metamorphosis by scraptious uses one of my favorite papers from the collection. I love the look of the painted wood blended with the large cut-out star. The photo is so pretty. The purple in the cluster highlights the purple in the photo and makes it pop. I like the way the clock face is added behind the cluster supporting the theme of change and the passage of time.
As always, I’ve come to the end of my post. I hope you will check out the final hours of the sale. Make sure to follow the link to see all the special deals including one of the collections I’ve presented above: Snickerdoodle Designs The Digichick
