It’s Monday and my favorite day to inspire you with just a few gorgeous layouts. This week Karen asked me to feature layouts using the free mini kit for the Use It All Challenge at The Digichick. This month’s mini kit is just adorable and you can grab it here and participate in the challenge. I really love everything about this mini from the cute duck, to the striped paper ribbon. Though you can barely see it in the mini, the white embossed paper is fantastic. It’s amazing to me how many different looks you can get from one mini kit and I’ll show you just a few here.
Lake Eola by Donnatopia gives you a really good look at the embossed white paper. I really like the tilt to the paper stacking and orange circles and paper strips she created from the kit paper. The split design is very effective and the photo is adorable. I love the way the vine moves the eye around and into the photo and the little cluster with the goose is placed at the perfect diagonal offset to the larger cluster. The journaling in the handwritten font adds just enough whimsy to complete the look of her layout.
The large photo in Clearwater Park by Kathryn is gorgeous. She used a template by Sherwood Studio. I like the angled papers framing the photo, both top and bottom. The delicate cluster across the top is so pretty and the shadows are realistic and not overdone in keeping with the lovely photo. The stapled date tag is a nice added touch. The title work combining a script font with the gold alpha is a skilled addition to her design.
Simple, yet striking is April by LiMa Inspirations. I love the large photo blended with the purple paper with just a bit of the white peeking out at the sides. The photo is so cute and I love the way it’s repeated as part of the cluster down the side of the layout. It almost appears as if the goose is walking along with the girl and puppy.
I love the stacked splats in Playful Geese by Ozegirl. She was inspired to create the splats by the mess geese always make when they come to play. The layout features such a creative design topped off by the pretty clusters and ribbon and, of course, that playful goose included in the mini. I really like the stamped alpha/font she chose for her title.
For my last feature I chose another layout using the gorgeous white paper, Spring by Norma. I like the paint she added to the background and the strips of paper as well as the paper rings placed beneath the darling photo. Her clusters are gorgeous and the bird placed opposite the goose draws the eye into the photo. Norma also used the Spring-A-Ling collection, which matches the free mini.
Once you play with the mini I’m certain you will want to take a look at the matching collection. It’s packed with more hand-drawn elements, pretty papers, and a gorgeous alpha. For detailed photos and descriptions, please see this blog post. I also did a post featuring layouts using the collection here and here.
