Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2014 by Karen 3 Comments

It’s Christmas Eve.   Over the past few weeks, my guess is that we have all spent time searching for the perfect gifts for those we love, making grocery lists then making sure we buy everything we need on those lists, and making certain that everything is just right before Christmas guests arrive.

I have never really enjoyed cleaning the house.  I’ve never really enjoyed cooking either.  Although, of course, I do.

What I DO enjoy is decorating the house and being creative.  Here is a very small project I finished yesterday.

I bought this old metal suitcase at a flea market (for $1.00) and some chalkboard paint at Michael’s Craft store.  I used masking tape to make a straight edge and isolate the center of the suitcase.  (Be sure to read the spray paint can for instructions on “conditioning” the new chalkboard.)  That’s it!  The suitcase is ready to use as a welcome ‘sign.”  When our guests arrive, I will put a checkmark in the box by their name, or let them do it!

Super simple and very fun!

Merry Christmas!

this is a cute idea! I love it! Merry Christmas to you and your whole family! I hope it’s you’re Merriest ever! I don’t mind cleaning, but i’ll take a pass on cooking. I like to bake though, but my favorite is decorating. I hate the putting away though – LOL

Thank you and I trust you had a wonderful Christmas. Just saw your A is for Angels Christmas kit and must get it tonight as it may be weeks before I’m back on line. I pray you will have a happy, healthy and safe New Year and that God will bless you with many more wonderful creative ideas. Blessings!
