I spent last weekend with our son and his family. Owen, who just turned 4 a few months ago, continues to make me laugh the entire time I am visiting. I could tell you tales for hours, but one of my favorites from this weekend is this:
The kids have a big playroom that is right off the kitchen. Brian and Melissa were putting together a bunk bed for Owen, so my job was to keep Owen and Ella (2 years old) occupied. We put up a sheet on some chairs and boxes to make an “invisible shield” so no one would see us – which, of course, Owen thought was the-best-thing-ever.
I took a picture of the “invisible shield” without Owen in front of it (without Owen’s knowledge) and then took one with him in front of it. I showed him the picture of the shield without him in front of it. His mouth dropped open and his eyes grew wide with astonishment, as he exclaimed, “IT REALLY WORKS.”
Yes, I know it was a little trick – but part of the fun of being a Grandma is making your grandchild think you are amazing. 🙂
What do YOU do to entertain your grandchildren? I’m always looking for new ideas!
