I used to have an exorbitant amount of real plants in my house. (Green Thumb). I transitioned from real to “silk” when they became popular, and was happy with that change for many years.
When we moved up to the Yosemite area a few years ago, silk plants just looked silly in the house. With so much natural beauty outside, I opted for more organic designs. Still….. I had one silk plant that I couldn’t toss out with the others. I’m not sure why. I just liked it. So I moved it from room to room, and not finding a spot for it; I finally moved it outside. I set it on my potting bench until I could decide what to do with it. I eventually decided to give it away, and set it down by the porch railing so that I would take it to the “give away” pile when I walked that way.
It’s been very hot here, and we have had to hand-water some of our plants, in addition to letting the sprinkling system water them. Yesterday I was busy and asked my husband, Rick, if he would hand water for me. He agreed, and I went back to work.
Within a few minutes, I looked out my office door and saw him faithfully watering the plants…. including the silk plant.
You know, if it looks THAT real, maybe I should move it back inside!
