Have you ever used the phrase “apple of my eye” to describe someone you love? It sounds silly, doesn’t it? Did you know that ‘apple’ is used metaphorically for the iris, which is the center and most precious part of the eye? If someone were to touch the apple of your eye, it would be very painful, and so it is protected by your eyelid. We refer to someone as the “apple of our eye,” when that person is precious to us and is someone whom we want to protect.
When Jewel, of Mad Genius Designs, and I started talking about doing a Fall collaboration, we had certain criteria in mind. We wanted our kit to be unique and whimsical, but at the same time… meaningful. We believe we have achieved that goal with “Apple of my Eye.” In this collection, the apple represents the “apple of your eye,” that special person or persons in your life whom you just adore.
Hearts and apples abound in this collection, along with rustic-looking elements, ribbons, raffia, and country-style papers that would be perfect for Fall scrapbook pages and/or projects, as well as for layouts about the ones you love.

The inspiration for this kit comes from Psalm 17: 8
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.”
