The Spirit of Spring Collection is packed with everything you need for your Easter and spring layouts. I love the variety in both the papers and embellishments. Believe me, it was difficult to choose layouts to feature today. I hope there is another blog post highlighting this collection in my future.
I absolutely love the scene created by Norma in Easter. This would be a great start to a book of children’s poems and just proves that you don’t need photos to be creative. The stickers perched atop the wagon and the tree and house behind are artfully arranged. I really like the paint and floating balloon and the way she used the arrow to direct the eye to the poem.
I’m always attracted to a clean, blocked design and Easter Egg Hunt by Liz is definitely a perfect example. I like how she chose the neutral wood paper for her background and bordered it with a bit of blue. The photos are so cute and journaling on the vellum makes it much more readable. I love the way she added the darling cluster in what would have been a photo spot. The bead scatter helps walk the eye through the layout.
The next layout made me pause and say to myself, now why didn’t I think of that. I love everything about A Blank Canvas by JennyG. The photo within a frame is so creative. I really like the paint behind and how she kept so much of the background blank to reinforce her theme. The watercolor paper, scribbles, and mesh support her photo just right. The cluster with the paint brush is another lovely touch. Her elements are sized so that everything is in perfect proportion.
I always love it when I can feature a heritage layout like My Favorite Peeps by Deanna. For her layout, she also used a template by Scrapping with Liz. I really like the combination of more modern elements with the gorgeous vintage photo. The paper stacking is so pretty and really draws the eye to the photo. I like the background paper she chose, included in the collection, with the floral watercolor blending into the white folded paper. The stitched scene she created along the bottom is just darling.
Honestly, I knew I would need to pick at least one layout that uses the vintage bunny sticker. There are actually two included in the collection. The clustering in Photo Challenge – April by LiMa Inspirations is so pretty. I really like the way she added the fence behind the photo and other elements. The banner is in just the right spot to emphasize the title and I like the way the word sugar is tilted to point toward the sweet photo.
I think I could go on forever with all the lovely layouts in the gallery but I’ll stop here and wish you a great and inspired week. In case you missed it in an earlier blog post, make sure you grab the matching freebie created by Renee. Just click on the image to download it.

It’s almost Easter. Since Easter is a Christian holiday, have you ever wondered how bunny rabbits and chocolate eggs got into the mix? I did, went searching for answers, and this is some of what I found:
- The story of the Easter Bunny is thought to have become common in the 19th century. Rabbits usually give birth to a big litter of babies (called kittens), so they became a symbol of new life. Legend has it that the Easter bunny lays, decorates and hides eggs as they are also a symbol of new life.
- Since ancient times rabbits have been associated with spring. It is believed that Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring, Eostre had a hare as her companion. The hare symbolizes fertility and rebirth. Later Christians changed the symbol of the hare to the Easter bunny.
- The custom of giving eggs at Easter celebrates new life. Christians remember that Jesus, after dying on the cross, rose from the dead. This miracle showed that life could win over death. For Christians, the egg is a symbol of Jesus’ resurrection, as when they are cracked open they stand for the empty tomb.
If you are interested in reading more, here is a concise and informative article.
These thoughts were the inspiration for my newest collection, Spirit of Spring. It is bursting with bunnies, chicks, colored Easter eggs, and plenty of flowers and greenery for colorful Easter photos. Kissed by watercolors in vivid reds, purples, teals, and bright yellows of the season, this digital kit is about fun, as well as the “spirit of Easter.”
